The Holy Trinity: In Scripture, History, Theology, and Worship by Robert Letham

“The Trinity has in practice been regulated to such an extent that most Christians are little more than practical modalists.”

So argues (successfully, I think) Robert Letham in his seminal work, _The Holy Trinity: In Scripture, History, Theology, and Worship_. Letham’s goal is to reinvigorate a thoroughgoing Trinitarian theology into Protestant churches, who though giving ascent to the doctrine of the Trinity, have since the Enlightenment relegated the practical implications of the doctrine to the background - in many ways due to the influence of Deism in theological discourse.

I found this book to be quite helpful. Here’s a link to a more detailed review of the work, for those interested: http://www.reformation21.org/shelf-life/the-holy-trinity.php
